2027: Ikenna Ukwa Takes ‘My Mandate Is for Everyone’ Message to Arochukwu Grassroots Leaders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, has taken his campaign for the 2027 election directly to the grassroots, declaring that his proposed representation will not discriminate between APC members and supporters of other political parties.

Ukwa made the declaration while addressing the Forum of Former Elected Councillors, Arochukwu LGA chapter, during an interactive engagement focused on his aspiration and his vision for the constituency.

In a statement that captured the central message of his engagement, Ukwa said:

“I am coming to represent all the parties in Arochukwu/Ohafia LGAs. Once elected, I will be the representative of PDP members, LP members, APGA members, APC members, and even those who do not belong to any party. My mandate will be for the people.”

The declaration underlines Ukwa’s attempt to frame the 2027 contest around inclusive representation rather than partisan loyalty.

He told the former councillors that their understanding of the grassroots makes them indispensable partners in any serious effort to transform Arochukwu/Ohafia.

Ukwa urged them to bring their experience, community contacts and grassroots networks to bear in communicating his message across the wards.

Beyond promises of future representation, the APC candidate also drew attention to his activities in the constituency over the years, stressing that his relationship with the people did not begin with his decision to contest for public office.

He highlighted interventions involving youths, women traders, education, healthcare and community development, presenting them as evidence of his commitment to service even outside an elected position.

He said his ambition is to translate that commitment into broader federal representation capable of attracting meaningful projects, creating opportunities for young people and supporting vulnerable groups across the constituency.

For Ukwa, the political differences that exist among constituents should not become barriers to development.
He therefore called for a politics that places the collective interests of Arochukwu/Ohafia above party divisions.

Responding, the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Tony Nwankwo, and other members of the group commended Ukwa’s approach, particularly his emphasis on inclusiveness and grassroots engagement.
They described him as a “people-oriented leader”, while applauding what they characterised as his consistent identification with the grassroots and his record of interventions in the constituency.

The engagement adds another dimension to the emerging 2027 political contest, with Ukwa seeking to build support not only among members of his APC platform but also across the wider political and social spectrum of Arochukwu/Ohafia.

His message is increasingly clear: party may provide the platform, but the people remain the proposed mandate.
