Abia First Lady Marks One Year Anniversary with Orphanages, the Less Privileged, and Vulnerable people in the State
In line with the commemoration of the one-year anniversary of Dr. Alex Otti’s administration as the Governor of Abia State, the First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has visited several charitable homes in Umuahia and Aba.
These visits included the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy Compassionate Home in Ahiaeke Ndume and the So Said Charity Home Foundation in Ubakala. During her visits, she donated cash, bags of rice, cartons of noodles and spaghetti, crates of soft drinks, snacks, cartons of groundnut oil, and diapers.
Mrs. Otti extended her charitable activities to the Victims of Needs Social Home and the Special Education for the Deaf and Mentally Challenged in Aba, where she made similar donations and celebrated the anniversary by cutting a cake with the residents.
Represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, Mrs. Otti conveyed a message of encouragement, love, and solidarity to the residents of these homes. She highlighted that the current administration, despite the challenges of state-building, is committed to supporting the less privileged, addressing their needs, and creating opportunities for them to benefit from the new initiatives in Abia State.
Reverend Sister Maria Ogbonna, in charge of the DMMM Compassionate Home Ahiaeke, and Mrs. Felicia Martins, founder of the So Said Charity Home Foundation, expressed their gratitude to the First Lady for her support and recognition of the less privileged.
They commended Governor Otti for his transformative leadership in Abia State.
Similar visit were also made at Aba, the commercial center of the state
In Aba, Mrs. Madubuko Ijeoma, Principal of the Special Education for the Mentally Challenged, and Mrs. Von Obiagbunam, Chief Director of the Victims of Needs Social Home, acknowledged this as the first instance of governmental support.
They expressed optimism about the direction of Governor Otti’s administration, citing visible progress and interventions.
Mrs. Von Obiagbunam in her words said “We have not only heard but have seen with our own eyes the interventions and progress recorded so far by this administration.,
We will keep praying for sustainability and for the success of this administration.”
In her remark ,the Special Assistant to the Governor on Vulnerable Groups, Mrs. Ifeoma Thomas, noted that the First Lady’s actions reflect a genuine concern for the welfare of the vulnerable.and She encouraged the caregivers to continue their dedicated service to God and humanity.
